Sigma competes with CUBE's customers such as CREAF, Diamond, etc. A buyout probably would not be a good move. Dave, thanks for the informative posts today.

Actually Sigma Designs does compete against CUBE with their new chip decoder. They recently added this chip to complement their decoder cards which is the crux of their business. I know their decoder card is being used in Sony and Phillips' DVD-Rom upgrade kits and I think the chip is also being used with the card.

Overall, I personally think it would be tough to acquire the company and get rid of the decoder card biz. The market cap of the company is cheap right now though and might be worth the customers CUBE would get with Sony, Phillips, and many third-tier OEMS. IMO of course...
