Hmmm. Dont we sound a little bit frustrated, Robert. Copycat products? Lets see, the transistor radio, the open reel tape deck, the trinitron, the cassette player (walkman)/recorder. Oh yeah, and then there is the CD player, the 8mm video/data recorder, high definition TV, minidisk, the PLAYSTATION ($5.5B in '97). Too bad American companies (outside of Microsoft) werent half as good at developing products. And remember, if Japanese car companies didnt kick our ass in the 70's, you could fly your flag on a 98 buick sporting WINGS.

<<as far as i am concerned Japan can go down the toilet any time along with sony et al. they have been nothing but arrogant with their copycat products, and the money they made off of every body else with their unfair trade policies. yes, sell their product at a loss to gain monopoly keeping their home market closed to foreigners. In fact all of Asia's problems are their own doings. Their game was going to end sooner or later. Their cheap crap is not wanted.
Look what happened to zenith, the Koreans bought a portion of the company's shares and then canceled the rest of the shares. leaving shareholders empty handed.>>

My feelings exactly!!

This whole Asian mess is the product of their own doing. If the house you build is not solid from the ground up then it will not stand the test of time. It's obvious that Japan's economy could not stand the test of time.

Don't feel too bad for them, these guys are great at saving money and are sitting on huge savings.
