Wasn't Yurie still development stage rather than a company with substantial market share?

My info on Yurie was that they were an ATM access co. According to most descriptions I've seen, the hierarchy kind of goes:
Core
Edge
Access

So perhaps Peppe was thinking that the core products have been developed in-house (which agrees with my research), the access comes from Yurie, and the edge is missing. (I believe the 36170 is generally considered an edge switch).
