Raye; The promoters areexperts in gathering suckers. People who jump at these ventures get on lists and they are called again and again with new chances. The modern promoter puts enough vagueness and cautionary stuff in his telephone calls that he cannot be crucified by them. If you are a big fish they take you to lunch in an open place and feed you the line and try and get you to bite. Skilled experts in social dynamics they ease their way into your confidence. An old trick was to call 1000 people with a boiler room phone operation and give a tip that a stock was going to move. tell 50% it will go up and 50% it will drop, and bracket a fewdays. Obviously 500 will respect your wisdom and the others you never call again. Split it again into 2-250 groupd and again into 2-125 and finally you end up with 60 people to whom you have given 4 straight correct calls. Then you sell them 50,000 shares of international branchwater at $4 a share. Most will buy as you are a real guru and IBW is just going to the moon as next week they will be approved as Clintons Bourbon dilution supplier and all the embassies will buy tank cars of the stuff. They buy and that is your profit on the deal. Callers like this use your normal broker or discount broker and you have no comeback as they usually call from cell phone batteries.
The internet sellers work the same way. They were among you at IPM. Who knows which ones they were. Often they have a good name(not theirs) as it sounds so much better that the fake amateur names.
They will pounce on critics and join in the prasing ceremonies and generally act just like good old boy who believe in the stock for this and that reasons. They make a "herd" and we are herd animals and we run along. BRE-Xwas a prime example. Even relarives of Walsh were on line touts. Walsh new.

How to defend. Check the assays and make sure any contract with a DD company is published. You could hire a DD company to do job "A" and then claim they were hired for a full drilling based DD from the ground to the assay lab under tight security. As long as they make the DD people sign a non disclosure that cat will stay in the bag. So beware of secret deals like IPM had with BD. We never ever found out what was what there di we. They dragged that deadcat all around the SW for a year.
