True. It's quite a change from $600 to $10 chips. There are a lot of low cost solutions for the appliance market.

Well I forgot to add something that you mentioned. INtel has a lot more competition in that market than they do now. There is no one standard on the low-end CPU market. Yes Strong-arm has a good following, but SUN has their pico java chips, and there are others out there. IN addition StrongARM will compete with some of Intel's own solutions. Personally I think th i960 is an excellent embedded CPU, but trying to sell it and ARM is going to be tricky.

That could be. Something seems to be delaying its introduction. They really havn't said much about it, but Intel is sort of like that. I guess they don't like to play their cards before they are ready.

I think the things delaying the ARM projects are:

"Not invented here"
and worse
"Competes with something invented here".. (and if Paul is correct about the 960 being a descendant on the 432, which I don't doubt, then it is almost a sin to sell ARM at all).
