aki,

Lets assume that AMAT gets to 20. From previous posts it is safe to assume that you will be buying AMAT LEAPS. I am assuming that you would get the 2001 series, but I was wondering what strike prices you would be looking at?

TIA

Doug

aki,

You are still my fav bear<GGG>

Re:there's a big hole in the theory of the baby boomer retirement bubble... if they lose their pants in a bear market... they'll be less cash to go around

Now you're a bear grasping at straws. Even if we do get a bear market, most baby boomers have longer time horizons than you do so they will be forced to ride out the waves if they want that plane fare to FLA when they turn 62. BTW, I am not dismissing the theory of a selective bear market, in which the high-flying Nifty-Fifty(and some internet companies) do not see any appreciable gains for a number of years. Keep in mind the KO receives 80% of its operating income from outside the U.S> IMO, they have not even begun to feel the impact of asia in terms of share price. Most likely we'll see a number of years where these issues move sideways instead of the 40% gains we've been seeing.

BTW, did anyone see AMZN today? Up another 8%. Why yes Virginia, there is an efficient market-NOT!

BTW2- I have devised a new way to make up for my tech losses this year. To see it, click on the link for my name. Why didn't I think of this sooner<GGG>

aki, explain below. Sure if people are investing in a taxable account and they lose money this equals less cash to go around, but if we are talking about 401K or IRA money, you do not lose until you cash out, and this is many, many years away for a lot of people, including me...I don't understand...

Incidently.... there's a big hole in the theory of the baby boomer retirement bubble... if they lose their pants in a bear market... they'll be less cash to go around...
