Due to time constraints I am able to read this thread only periodically, and invariably it makes me feel like a wakening Rip Van Winkle, primarily on account of your prolific contribution. The EE Times report on the EDA industry report so kindly republished by you underscores what appears to me to be an emerging paradox. My initial investment in CYMI in 11/97 was based my conclusion, not novel, that the demand for CYMI's products was on the verge of expanding dramatically, because they were essential to the semiconductor industry's move to 18 microns and in order to get there by 2000 INTC etc. would have to start buying ASML etc.'s steppers and scanners sooner rather than later. That scenario is not proving out. I guess Asia is the answer, although my instincts tell me that when an essential product's time has come those that need it will find the capital. Is this just another case of frustrated expectations no matter how rational or what am I missing? It puts me in mind of couplet that reads, "We stand round in a ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the center and knows.'
