PX, I was presenting anecdotal evidence and unfortunately I have yet to see any numbers. However, its' worth noting that TDFX has opened an office in London given their assessment of growth/demand. I've traded a few of the database companies in the past. Sybase, Oracle have shown much higher growth in Europe than domestically. Obviously this is a reflection of the technology curve. As more and more businesses expand their usage of pc equipment, more middle class people will become exposed to its' capabilities. I think that a large majority of people buy their first computer to work from home (either business or school work). Face it, its' hard to sell buying a computer just to play games. Parents wouldn't buy it and my wife surely wouldn't have either. However, once its' there it eventually leads to Internet access and game usage for those with the time. It's unfortunate (from a quality perspective) that Internet access is practically a pre-requisite for game play nowadays (drivers, patches, etc.). However, Internet access has opened up a whole new world of communication and information exchange that goes way beyond our borders. Among these and of primary interest to us is the gaming community. Have you noticed the wide variety of nationalities that are posting to these boards. As a matter of fact, someone from Germany responded to this post over on Yahoo. Anyway, I'm rambling, if anyone has any statistics on Europen PC sales/game sales, etc. I'd be interested in the numbers. Joe C.
