I have owned a stock for several years that has raised money thru selective restricted stock offerings....It has had some pretty shrewd investors put up money in this fashion. Every time they have raised capital in this manner the restricted stock that they sold 6-12 months before has better than doubled in value. In other words, the person who put up the cash (or property in this case) for the restricted shares has doubled his/her investment in less than a year. Many large investors do this....almost like venture capital.... I believe this is a much better way to increase revenues/cash flow, than borrowing.....
