the net is not a fad. the power of the net is on the consumer side. ignorance leads to profits. the net reduces ignorance. coke makes money. amzn burns it. coke doesn't sell their product over the net and make money b/c shipping is the etailing killer.

when will this become obvious to the drones on the street? don't know.

it will at some point.

you do raise a good point. people buy b/c they know the name, like the concept or something equally as ethereal. they don't know the nuts and bolts of the business nor the power of the net imntbho.

I think you're right - Amazon is a household name now - the name itself being worth a fortune. Exponential growth of the internet will make the value justified.
