Phil, Silver was down about $.05 yesterday, but is up $.14 today, I don't know where you got this quote, but, try to use Quote.com and the symbol 'siz8' for December 98 silver. This will give you accurate readings. For spot, use 'sin8' for July silver.

As for your question about what is happening in silver, it is the US$. It has been very strong and is forcing the metals lower. This should be a temporary situation, as I am seeing Japan selling US Treasuries now, something I was expecting for awhile now...Ever since Rubin's remarks to Japan about letting the Yen sink. The Silver fundamentals are still firmly in place, it is just the short term traders trying to make some money at our expense.

Technically, silver found support at $5.00 (July Silver) and looks to recovery today. If it breaks below $5.00, the traders will try and force it down to $4.75...but, IMHO, I don't think this will happen.

Best of luck.

Phil
