Greenspan talking now on Capitol Hill about mergers and acquisitions

here are some thoughts from RT(below)
i was thinking about margin calls yesterday as i see so many people getting them on the Strictly Drilling thread
I was on the phone with Waterhouse yesterday because I was having trouble with their internet site...(HA WHAT"S NEW!)
and heard two people talking in the background to customers about margin calls...one was for WDC
didnt hear the other one

I would say if we go down much more...the pressure will increase to the downside due to margin calls...such as you are seeing in the oil sector

[ Market Thoughts: Doomsday Scenario ]

Recently I've seen across many boards where many individuals are feeling the pressure
of margin calls. This will only accelerate the downward market momentum that is
already in place IMO.

Not out of the woods yet. For the Doomsday Scenario:

Nasdaq better make a stand here or else we've got an additional 60 point risk in the
waiting.

DJIA, an additional 160 to 260 point risk.

S&P 500: 38 points, but it might make a stand 8 points lower.
