Any trader worth his salt has been burned like this at least once. Its not nice - but as you have experienced, gracefully accepting the lesson works to make you feel better. Its simple math - what does one prefer? To lose $100k or lose $150k? When the pain of holding is worse than the pain of covering, people cover. That's life.
