NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Options in Dell Computer Corp., which once kept the Philadelphia Stock Exchange afloat, captured the top spot Monday on the American Stock Exchange's active-options list, as the computer maker's issue made its debut on the new exchange.

As first mentioned here last week, options for Dell Computer (DELL) are relocating ahead of a larger merger between AMEX/Nasdaq Stock Market and the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. Dell options accounted for nearly one in four options trades on the the Philadelphia floor.

At their new home, Dell traders were closing out their positions in June 85 calls (DLQ=FQ) and June 95 puts (DLQ=RS). Both of these contracts expire on Friday, as do all other June options.

Michael Schwartz, chief options strategist at Oppenheimer in New York, said he didn't see traders "rolling over" or extending the expiration month into the future of either of these contract. He pointed out the June 85 calls, which now change hands at about 5/8, once went for as high as 16 1/8.
