Back in June, I posted here about how I had spoken to one of the official credit card processors for CYCH and they tried to steer me away from CYCH and towards a different system (authorizenet), etc. Click on the post I'm replying to to look at the thread from back then. Anyway, I called to a few other processors, and found one that was friendly, even towards a new business (Humboldt Bank). I am setting up shop with CYCH, and am allegedly going to be up and running next Monday. I will say that the process was a bit rough for me as a new business owner. Alot of people didn't want to give me the time of day, and the up front charges are not small. I had to pay $500 to the credit card processor and $300 to the ISP who is doing the programming for it (using stock scripts.). The reason I went with CYCH was that I wouldn't have to do any programming myself - the ISP took care of that. If I knew then what I know now, I probably would have investigated some non-CYCH options. But the ISP also happened to have very good web hosting rates for what I wanted to do. As far as CYCH is concerned, getting as many ISP's to be CYCH development partners is a big plus. That's how I made my choice. After Monday (when people start buying stuff which is hopefully soon), I'll be able to give a report from a merchant's perspective on how easy the CYCH software is to use - my site is set up so that I just get an authorization (don't want to bill people until items are shipped for those items that aren't in stock) and so I have to go to CYCH's site somewhere and post transactions, and there are some other features that I will play with at some point. DISCLAIMER: I am neither long nor short CYCH stock. -Mike
