GAS IS FLOWING AT STRACHAN!

Things are on track and looking GOOOOOOOOD!
No numbers yet, still working on that part.

Bad timing to have good news with the way the markets are.

Still believing,

viper,

If they have "swiss cheese" porosity structure as we both have heard, THEY DO HAVE GREAT PERMEABILITY. THAT'S GUARANTEED!!!

I doubt that they have a "drill core". (Personally, I would not have allowed one to be cut if it were my well for fear of losing the well with a stuck core barrel at 10,500 feet). They obviously will have drill cuttings which will show up only the very small vugs (because large holes can not physically be recovered in small cuttings!!). The best clue that there's vugular porosity is the fact that the bit dropped during drilling "like a hot knife going through warm butter"! That's a pretty good indicator that large holes were encountered. In addition, crossplot log calculations will provide a "suggestion" as to the presence of secondary porosity.

They will only be able to estimate what it should produce. They do not know how deep the cement went into the formation when they ran casing. They do not know how deep their perforations went into the formation. They do not know how much cement and drilling mud they will be able to clean up with an acid job. Even now they do not know if they will do an acid frac stimulation. Until yesterday they did not know formation pressure. They still know ALMOST NOTHING about the reservoir as little as six feet from the wellbore!!!! And, that is why they need to do an extended flow test!!!

Having said that, based upon their experience, they have a pretty damn good idea of what to expect from the well IF THINGS GO ACCORDING TO HOYLE!!

Later,
grayhairs
