Chris, my view of analysts is more suspect. I feel many will do what's commonly called pump 'n dump. Which means when they realize their invesment house is holding too much of a stock that's going down they will reiterate a buy or recommendation and throw in a future target price that's amazing. Enough buying sentiment is created to allow them to sell their own holdings. Remember, when it comes to some analysts, they (on occasion) get rich by making you rich... but (mostly) they get rich by making themselves rich.
