Tom:

Interesting that you must go back to a scientist from several hundred years ago to "prove" your point. Sir Isaac, although brilliant, was a product of his times. And to find favor with his King and Church, as he held political positions, he had to be the devout christian role model.

He never reconciled science to the bible, the bible has too many inconsistencies, misstatements, ignorant precepts, outlandish lies and misinformation. Each year that passes real science uncovers more of the massive flaws the bible contains. One day the bible -- now revered by so many mislead individuals -- will take it's proper place on the shelf as a quaint, historical oddity.

Just as Thomas Aquinas tried and failed to reconcile the bible with Aristotlean rationality, so did Newton try -- and fail to reconcile the bible with science fact. He swept the inconsistencies under the rug and gratefully returned his attention to physical theory.
