TO ALL Received latest investors package in the mail this pm.
1st. qt. revs up 27% $76 mill from $60 mill. Net up 34% $1.915 mill (0.08eps) from $1.429 mill (0.06eps). Mfg. costs remain due to overtime, expediting fees for materials, and outsourcing. Expending funds over next nine months to increase mfg. cap by 35%. to meet increases demand for products. Net per share 0.08 diluted on 23,620 mill shares. This as of 4/3/98 Gross margins, though held back by high operating costs, expanded to 49.6% from 48.4%. K

Newspage article says that Etac is getting out of turn-by-turn navigation market.

From Newspage:

"Claiming it is getting completely out of the U.S. turn-by-turn navigation market, Menlo Park, Calif.-based Etak Inc. recently said it would cut 170 employees-about 40 percent of its workforce."

"Although it is a very expensive and time-consuming process, Rosemont, Ill.-based Navigation Technologies plans to stay in the U.S. turn-by-turn navigation market."
