J, couldn't agree more with your assessments...their market niche is the cost-effective product for companies where the price/performance ratio is more important than the label on the box.

As their history shows they are very good at what they do, and at some point someone else is going to decide that this small fish needs to be gobbled up by a larger one. However, without the tacit agreement of management that won't happen because they control the company with their holdings...so someone with a lot of $$ will come along, assure Noam et al of a large degree of autonomy and will do the deal at perhaps a 15% premium over the market price - my best guess as to the future, when unknown.

Does Lucent/Cisco/Ciena have the 4-16 channel device
that you suggested? At the worst scenario, MRVC is
not too far behind Lucent/Cisco/Ciena, right? Wouldn't
you agree/disagree that MRV can be a good fit for some
of the bigger networking firms/telcom equipment firms out there?
