Elliot: Thanks. In the mean time, I had sent this to Neal Sanders: Dear Neal Sanders, I am a stockholder that had been under the impression that IAI would have achieved MANY new CONTRACTS by this time. I expected this due to many reasons, but primarily to CA increasing the UNICAST 2000 sells force, which was announced at the end of Apr. 98. However, I recall hearing about only one additional paying contract (a small co. in W. Va) since then. I have noted that Mr. Rosenberg recently said: ''There are literally billions of lines of code which must be examined and made Year 2000 compliant before the end of 1999. It is not a negotiable deadline; it is not one that can be missed." But there are also an increasingly large number of Y2K companies coming on board to fill these orders. What new clients does IAI have ? Is the July 20 earnings report expected to show a substantial increase, or is the current stock price justified ? and I just got this response: Dear Scott: Thanks for your note; I'll try to answer each of your questions. IAI has received quite a few new contracts in the past two months. Our problem is talking about them. At the time of our annual meeting (May 27), we said we had visibility on $5.5 million of revenue in the quarter (versus $2.0 million at the same point in 1Q98. Clearly, that business is coming from somewhere. For a variety of reasons, many customers don't want their names used. I gather that at its base, the rationale is that to announce in June 1998 that you're just starting to deal with your year 2000 problem is tantamount to acknowledging that you did nothing before now. Of course, every customer wants to trumpet that they're finished.... You say that there are an increasing number of Y2K companies coming on board to fill these orders. No, that's not so, and especially not in our "space" of Computer Associates-related code. I've not seen any new names of companies with products; just the same companies with new versions of their products; and those principally for IBM COBOL remediation. That said, I will have several "new" names to give you in the next two weeks. Please be patient... it ain't for lack of trying (or selling) on our part. Neal Sanders
