Bio-ID pilots . . .

Mytec has a pilot using 10 Touchstones (its $750 one-finger Windows NT logon peripheral) in the social services unit of a South American government that "could result in sales of tens of thousands of units over the next several years" according to Mytec's CEO (quoted in Canada Newswire of June 19, 1997) . . . On January 22, 1998, Identix reported it had single-finger bio-ID pilots going in the US, Europe and South America . . . Are they competing for the same deal?

Mytec also reported in the 1997 article that it was being used for time and attendance of outside contractors at the Louvre in Paris, and was in a data security pilot with Abbott Laboratories in Chicago.

Just FYI on a slow news day . . .
