Jan 45 calls would be worth a bit under $25, or $2500 per contract. As for the second question, who knows. I personally think that LU would increase slightly (less than 1 point) -- but it's anyone's guess.

In the last few years, most mergers of any kind have been greeted by the market with indifference or skepticism, rarely with optimism. The BAY-NT deal clearly falls into the latter category. Don't forget, the ASND-CSCC deal was greeted similiarly, and it is now considered a master stroke by Mory. IMHO, a LU-ASND deal would be greeted with more enthusiasm by the Street, because these 2 companies are Street darlings right now. BAY, on the other hand, is an ugly duckling in the Street's eyes.
