Tim, I'd expect you to have a long term view, and nothing wrong with that, but my concern was about the effect of options over the next week.

Open interest for June is too big to discount. On a normal day, NT moves a lot on 300,000 shares. Can we expect some power struggles to make these stocks end trading on Friday at exactly $30 for BAY? NT price has certainly been adjusted to this goal. Now it's just a matter of fine tuning BAY.

Regardless of where Friday closes, there will be a big change of hands as options are exercised on Saturday. This will lead to some strange activity again on Monday. How this unwinds will be interesting. I'm looking for some guesses on what will happen, from both long and short selling perspectives.

David Faber has started speculating that the price is too low for BAY and seems to be less than was already offered and rejected from other companies. The first in a wave of bidding war rumors?
Regards,

Mark

PS Do you see a greater threat to HLIT coming from a Bay/NT combo? I guess that's better answered on the HLIT thread.
