<<<would 20% really impress anyone?>>

You are right Bob. This is a departure from previous quarters in which AMZN blew away the "official" revenue expectations. Here I am projecting that, yes, they might actually meet expectations. But the difference, IMHO, is that now there is real competition from BKS. I am not fervently trying to tell everybody to buy this stock with my recent postings.

I am trying to solicit opinions about where the price will go from here, and what might be the determining factors. I have no confidence in my ability to figure where we go from here.

I don't know how the street would react to a 20% increase in revenues. I guess it would depend on how fast BKS is growing revenues. It appears that the street believes that AMZN grew revenues at a faster rate than BKS in Q1, and that AMZN is winning the competition or already won. But, I don't think BKS was trying very hard in Q1, in terms of promoting their website.

Another unknown is how much of the decline in RK website visits was due to small booksellers using BKS search engine instead of AMZN's search engine to locate books for customers who didn't know the correct title of the books they wanted. And, how many visits are actually shopping agents reporting to netsurfers that AMZN was not the cheapest.

Best Regards,
Tom

OTOH, does anyone buying this the last few days even know what the revenues are, or
even care? I don't think so.

I do not believe so either.

Its not what they know, its what they think.
Last week, I had an enlightenment. I was told 'If you give them the facts, they'll ask too many questions'
Traders need not read this!
