Nortel Inherits BAY's Baggage

BAY has "enough skeletons in its closet to fill a haunted house".

"BAY gets another strategy every time it acquires a smaller player"

BAY and Nortel "cultures clearly don't mix"

"House also isn't likely to stick around." "House isn't going to be CEO of buttoned-down Nortel, especially when he turns up late at a press conference the day of the merger."

betty,

I have to admit I'm surprised that NT went for BAY.

I was hoping that Cisco would hook up with NT but this move just shows that NT will not be able to compete in the long run.

The deck chairs just got a "major" reshuffling and a lot of the smaller players just disappeared with this move.

I'm not worried about Cisco after this move, the pressure is on NT and LU, not Cisco now!

I love the smell of napalm in the morning!
