Re: New XPS-R Well My daughter's new DELL XPS-R 400 MHZ PII arrived this morning. I have assembled it out of the boxes and I'm only short a 5 plug extension cord so I can plug in the HP scanner and the Laser Jet. I'll get that later. I am installing her school software on it now. This is one nice machine. 256MB of SDRAM, 16 Gigabytes of HD, 56 K X2 Modem, Zip drive, 19" energy saver Monitor, Turtle beech sound, etc. The ACS495 speaker system is interesting. It is like having a hi fi system under control of the computer. She wants to take it to her room. But I want to get it set up and check it out for a week or two before I turn it over to her. I am loading up her software ADOBE Photoshop 5.0 Encyclopedia Brittanica EPGY Math courses AOL SAT Prep software I wish I had this kind of horsepower available when I was in high school. This is the first message sent from the new machine. Very nice... Much nicer than any of the sub-zero machines could be.
