Agreed. The big money will make much more from the boxed short then they will from the long position.

Hi all,

I'm taking a bath with AMZN puts at the moment, but just had a few thoughts to throw out.

I'm wondering, if a lot of the short interest is being/has been boxed, that would probably hurt us shorts in the near term, since it generates more buying pressure.. causing price spikes with Fools, etc rushing in. But I'm new to shorting, is boxing a common thing to do amongst shorts? I've only heard of it recently..

Also, intraday trading patterns are pretty interesting with this stock.

This gives you a pretty good idea of the patterns over the last five days. It seems like around 2pm everyday, there's a huge spike in volume along with a spike in the price. I can understand a large number of market orders at open driving the price up in the morning, but any ideas on what's going on at 2pm? Too late for lunch time buyers?

Oh well, I think I'm going to capitulate soon and start buying calls. This must mean a top then :)

James.
