TO: Don E., Victor D. , Quad-k. , Dwight V., Elmo G. THANK YOU all for the excellent discussions you men are posting on "our Novell" thread....in this world saturated with tons of economic news every minute I feel like the classic student of Economics/stock market....i.e. trying to pick fly shit out of a pound of black pepper with 14 oz. boxing gloves on....(ggg) However, after reading your posts I have an understanding of a bit more of whats happening around me!!! and I appreciate that very much, What Novell needs now is Michael Jordan to say something like how much he loves the product!!! (ggggg) Best Regards to you all, Waldy

(OFF TOPIC)

Victor,

With all due respect to my friend Ronald Reagan, I'm afraid that the Soviet Union would have fallen apart without our help.

It may have taken so long simply because of mistakes made by prior administrations, actually.

You want a conspiracy. How about the US, British, and Polish (from memory) troops on Russian soil in 1919 that were aiding the White Russians against the Reds? They were inexplicably removed with the issue still in question.

That was only the first of many bad moves.

I also hear in your post a distinct belief in the "new paradigm".

We'll see.

I say we look good only in comparison to the others.

That doesn't mean that long term we will be able to avoid problems.

Japan looked good in comparison to us in 1989.

What really matters is policies that make sense.

I believe that time will show we have policies in place that will be shown to make a lot less sense when things turn down, than they appear to now.

Remember, I'm talking very long term here. Day to day, or qtr to qtr stuff doesn't impress me, in a system as far in debt as ours is.

There is a piper out there and he's starting to put his hand out.
