This One ISN'T OT: Microsoft Out Of Germany...

I literally just got this from IDG's wonderful internet news
e-mail... C'mon SEEK let's get that DT deal finalized...

Microsoft Exits German Net Service

Low-cost competitors are one reason Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) is
reportedly withdrawing from its Internet access service in Germany.
Microsoft launched the service in 1995. Microsoft is advising
customers to switch to Deutsche Telekom AG's T-Online, the country's largest ISP, which services 2.1 million users, Bloomberg news reported. Microsoft did not reveal its subscriber base. Customers who make the switch before the end of August will receive two free hours of access monthly until December, the report added.

Possibly lost in much of the rumor-mongering over the past few days is the relatively new "Spotlight" format for the channels (I believe its relatively new). The sponsors are being filled by the likes of the following companies:

Automotive: Acura, Toyota, and CarSmart
Computer Shopping: NECX Direct
Personal Finance/Insurance: Prudential
Personal Finance/Banking: Atlanta Internet Bank
Personal Finance/Investing/Planning: Investor's Business Daily
Personal Finance/Mutual Funds: American Century
Shopping/Music&Movies/CDs: Music Boulevard

I'm sure that there are other sponsors, but these are some pretty decent names.

Good evening fellow SEEKers...
