Shalom, Hello. Trying to be sly to old Father Terrence today, heh? Well, FT's not falling for it, old friend. * Do you believe it is rational to murder unborn human beings? It is not up to christians, jews, atheists, agnostics or the government to decide when a fetus becomes a human being -- that task rests on the shoulders of science, which has been criminally silent on the matter. It is science's responsibility to define it, but so far most authorities have held their tongue out of cowardice -- they are afraid of being politically attacked. Unfortunately, until that definition is given, the controversy will rage on. Until then the adult woman's rights MUST take precedence under the Constitution. The dictionary defines fetus as "the individual unborn ORGANISM". Organisms do not have rights under the Constitution. *Do you believe it is rational to murder full term babies, as is advocated by the partial birth abortion clan? IMO, a fetus that can live on it's own without artificial life support (such as an incubator) is a human with rights. Unfortunately, science refuses to step forward and say it is so. If stories I have heard are true, that fully self-supporting infants are smothered or bashed in the head till dead, yes, I would say that is murder and the supreme violation of an individual's life. In those cases the woman's rights do not take precedence, they are equal in right to life. *The govt., as a matter of fact, in every state in this country is legally obligated to intervene in the affairs of any of it's residents when the health/welfare of a minor is in question. Which means they can come right into your home,(without notice) and take any and or all of your children away from you if they even just suspect that the child is either being abused or neglected. And they define both those terms, not you. It is termed in the law as "A compelling interest". This is wrong and another example of State and federal government abuse of rights. This should be fought by all Americans who love liberty. The government has been overstepping its bounds throughout this century and each time it succeeds it becomes more emboldened and more brazen in the violation of the rights our forefathers laid down to protect the individual and his/her property. In these cases the government acts criminally. The laws should be changed and any bureaucrats that violate any American's true rights should face the possibility of life in prison. *We are supposed to appear to be the world's big brother when we go, (sometimes forcefully) into a foreign country and insist that their govt. abide by our human rights laws. So while our men are overseas minding somebody else's business, and preaching, "you must stop mistreating and harming your citizens" our govt. is overseeing one million or more legal murders a year of unborn infants. O So Rational! The government of the USA has some facets that our Founding Fathers would have found criminal, there's no denying it. Much of the government is still good -- if only the ability to tax wealth were taken away from them. Then the government would be forced to fall back and assume its proper role. *And tell me Terrence, what species of wild animal is more intelligent than human beings? Even those human beings who advocate the murder of unborn infants can be taught with a proper rehabilitation program. (And that is one educational program I would not mind paying for) I do not believe in "rehabilitation" (brainwashing) programs. *"The bottom line is that mysticism and force go hand-in-hand. Both are ultimately enemies to rational thought and true liberty." -- I agree in total. That is why I choose to follow Christ and not mystics, they really screw up a person's mind. Sorry to inform you, Shalom, that which you already know anyway: YOU are a mystic as well, and until you embrace rational thought and reject the fantasy of faith in illusion and wishful thinking, you too are an enemy of reason.
