Your constant defense of House and his self serving actions explain your own self described investment profile, "foolish".

Cruiser,
Re -- You writing implies that you lost a lot of money on BAY.

Wrong assumption. My investment in Bay is comfortably profitable.

Re -- I respect House immensly. The proof will be in the execution going forward. House's execution to date, as viewed internally, has been astounding.

There seems to be a disconnect then, execution is measured by profitability and corressponding share price. Bay's stock price was in the low 20's just after House came on board and was in the low 20's (before merger rumors) a few weeks ago.
Execution is only partially measured by the number of products a company cranks out and the morale of the engineers.

Re -- NT Merger...

There were 2 premises made by Mr House in that merger.
-- NT/BAY move at internet speed..
Unfortunately the industry does not move at internet speed, and in fact there is a lot of inertia.
-- Making an immediate jump into the center of the new industry of "voice data convergence".
The new industry has to be learnt, it cannot be acquired instantly and the rest of the world has to be ready (Carriers are really SLOW movers). Thus by the time world is ready for this LU will be there, and NT will be a player with no "real" advantage.

Cruiser, you can tell us now.
You really a Investor Relations rep for BAY!!! Aren't you? Be honest for a change.

Only an IR rep would put a positive spin on something like this- top management getting perks to sell out its shareholders and claim it is in their best interest. If bullshit were electricity then BAY would be the largest provider of power in the country.

I didn't buy SNPX then WFLT= BAY because I loved the name. I bought the stock to make money back in 93. You said, "Forget the $38 / share price; that is a meaningless number". Your right on that account.

John

Cruiser,

An employee respecting his CEO "immensly" is a great testimonial, and it carries a lot of weight with me. I just hope that your blinders are off.

Pravin.

Cruiser, good luck, NT is a powerful company. I was always more impressed by NT in fiber optics, than LUcy. NT seems to close deals well in areas that I follow. I think House did a commendable job,he just may have had bad luck with timing. The telecom sector has had a rough ride, there are many reasons, too many to list.
Just wanted to thank you for your insight, and helpful information.
