Appian Vs STB

If you've read the earlier comparisons made by
Dirk Hente, you might remember that Appian has the superior
software/drivers and STB pro128 has the superior hardware
(128 bit)). I'm glad to hear STB is soon to announce
more versatile software.

If you are serious with going very high end to to CAD,
I suggest you review Dirk's review of the Appian and STB cards.
He has several posts dedicated to such. In finality, he
arrived at the conclusion stated above. Waiting for the
STB software may be what to hold out for. $1300 for a high end multimonitor card is a lot of money. What kind of programs do you need it for?

STB Price list: #reply-4811393
Appian J-3: comes with either RDRAM ($~1200) or SGRAM (~$your first born.)
