Urlman,

This is an interesting development. Not sure if LSI chip uses the
picoJava core. Also not sure if these chips are only vaporware like
all the other java chips to date (except PSC1000 of course!). It's
easy to say they will be manufactured "next year". We have been hearing that for two years now from other companies (Sun, LG, etc.)
Time will tell, but in the meantime I hope we can pick up some of the
marketshare for java chips. Problem is there aren't many products
utalizing java at the moment. Cap

What caught my eye - and continues to attract me to this area - is the progression of projected sales. Five fold increase in unit sales from '99 to '01 (2MM to 10MM) with accom. sales of 10B to 50B Yen('00 to '03). That is just one supplier. I want to leverage my investment as much as possible in this area. Without fear of contradiction, the one thing PTSC can surly give you is leverage!

What I want to know is..

Has PTSC ported any OS to its chip yet ? (i.e. Windows CE, Java OS, Geos)

We can't really expect any large volumes in consumer electronics until then. And the price just keeps going down..
