Joe, to be honest I am a big holder on COMS (regreting it) from
$70, I averaged down with a breakeven point at 57. COMS is a very
good company, good management. It is the 56k standard's approval,
that stopped the ISP's from upgrading to 56K which impacted COMS,
and the inventory problem from US robotics, add the Asia crisis...
COMS is at the edge of the network, and has low margin products.
The corebuilder switches (LAN) are stated to be good. The Total
Control RAS from USRX are second to Ascend in the industry. I guess
as ISP's in upgrade to 56k in the second half of 1998 modem sales
should pick up. COMS dropped the ball with the USRX merger. Once, I
reach breakeven on COMS I will unload half my position. Kindda fed up
waiting for 1 year now... I will keep the other half as a long term
investment. Regards, Imm
(PS. I averaged down from 70 to 24 in 1997, and did not sell at 59
last august. Just shows how plain stupid I was)
