I don't know too much about the following,

since Novell is likely to have the best JAVA implementation on an Intel based processor with Netware 5

It's been a long time since Novell's had the best ANYTHING... but I will agree with you on:

Sure it looks better politically.

However I don't think they would make such a move without thinking the chess game through as far as they can calculate.

A while back I posted a link to a market value correlation analysis for AMD and INTC at rcmfinancial.com . There are now sector analyses that aggregate the entire sector in terms of market value sensitivity to measures such as earnings and cash flow. Choose the market value link at the top of the page for the sector analyses, or choose the AMD or INTC links on the side for the specific companies.
