Rarebird,
Words of wisdom indeed. My rule of thumb has become very simple: if it doesn't hurt like hell to pull the trigger, it's a bad trade. All my winners have been like that, e.g., a big position in XCIT at 8, when bankruptcy and irrelevance loomed, and my losers have been when it was a no-brainer, e.g., buying INTC last summer (right after it was on the cover of Money Magazine and every other mainstream financial publication in the U.S.). I couldn't agree more that MO right now is so unattractive that it must be a strong buy. Has there been a more unloved stock lately?
Good luck to you and please keep sharing your perspectives.
Regards,
Craig A. Anderson
