JB:

" Perhaps humans are divided into two sub-species, reason dominant and faith dominant. I wonder if evolution will allow coexistence indefinitely?"

An interesting idea. I never thought of that. Throughout history co-existence has proven almost impossible. The tribes seem to tolerate the individual of reason for awhile, then they turn on him/her with the intention of controlling or destroying.

I still think the old bible prediction of the meek inheriting the earth may come true -- but not in the way originally meant. I think that the strong will eventually leave earth for the stars, while the meek, weak and fearful inherit the earth, revelling in their mystical power until a comet, asteroid, nova, wipes them out. (Take your choice.)

<< Grasping a belief system that promises life after death, however irrational, can be a powerful lure for many.>>

Not grasping for that belief system while there is time will prove to be absolutely detrimental to your eternal destiny. Once the ungodly are judged and thrown into the lake of fire there will be no hope whatsoever.

James, consider for a moment what it will be like to suffer eternally just because in your few fleeting moments while on earth you spurned the only one that could save you.

Eternal wrath, eternal flames, eternal torments all because you choose to mock God during the time of grace. How sad!!!
