John, Thanks for the reply. I see what you are getting at but there are too many variables to make a valid assumption unless we can approximate wafer cost and know average yields over the quarter. On the other hand you may be assuming that AMDs yields are not increasing nor is volume of chips. I'm suggesting that yields and volumes have taken a big leap recently. I AM NOT suggesting that AMD will make a profit this quarter. the 3rd quarter should be a different story. Jim
