Tero,

You're nothing if not persistant. If you want anecdotes here are a couple.
I have an aquaintance who bought a QCP-2700 dual mode phone. He uses it on the Bell Atlantic system throughout the Northeast. He "loves" his phone. He says he's the "only one of his friends who's not complaining about their service and phones". ERICY was a phone he mentioned in particular that people were complaining about. Now I don't know which system this ERICY user was on but it certainly wasn't CDMA.

I know someone else who recently switched from analog to the much ballyhooed ATT one rate dig plan. She is using a MOT phone, which you'll probably say explains it. She says " My analog service sounded much better. The only reason I'm using the dig plan is because it's cheaper".Is this CDMA?

What does this prove? Nothing. And neither do your proclamations. You refuse to answer fundamental questions. Why is everyone so anxious to do wideband CDMA if CDMA is so inferior? Why did Bell Atlantic and Sprint, Airtouch, choose to go with CDMA. Why did LOR, Daimler Benz, Vod, Alcatel, etc, decide to join with FOUNDING Partner QUALCOMM to build G*?Were they simply dupes of some conspiracy? Why did the Japanese choose IS95 networks, when they just as easily could have deployed GSM if they felt it was better. You cannot claim that all these co's just bought into some CDMA hype, especially now that even ERICY has conceded CDMA is the technology of the future. Of course GSM is still growing fantastically. It has tremendous momentum. Things go on of their own accord.Despite this momentum IS95 is making huge inroads, GAINING MARKET SHARE. Is it not possible that complaints people have with IS95 are due to incomplete buildouts, problems which will be solved. The US is a big country. It's going to take a while before these buildouts are complete.

Answer some of these questions? You're credibility is at stake. In addition, you have obviously taken the position that ERICY and NOKA will be able to go around Q IPR to do WCDMA or that they will simply steal it. To which position do you subscribe? You already stated on the Q thread that you subscribe to "both". If you really believe that it's appropriate for companies to steal others property, then I'm not sure whether we have anything else to discuss.

Tero,
ONCE AGAIN YOU'RE MANIPULATING AND DISTORTING THE TRUTH.If you choose 5 yrs it's true that QCOM underperforms, but if you use max on the chart another story develops. Q traded at 9$ on 12/13/91, the S&P at 384. Today the Q is at 49$ and the S&P is at 1180. Here's the chart:

What does this tell us about the future? NOTHING!

Tero, start at Qualcomm's IPO and check the price compared with the S&P index. You can select pieces of graph to look bad for Nokia, Ericsson and anyone - even Microsoft. Developing such a new technology as cdmaOne is a decade long project - it has been going since 1986 and sales have just got going. Some people treat investing like a casino and look for day trading results.

I'm doing very, very, very well thanks with my investments and I think in terms of 5 year chunks. But am not averse to short term action if wise.

Did you find the history of Frezza's GSM Nazis versus Jacobs' CDMA Mafia interesting?

Tero, you didn't answer the question. Why was that? Do you have a problem with being asked a question? Remember, the one about Nokia allowing a total copy of their best handset, including the name Nokia! I'm sure I heard somewhere that Nokia doesn't make money from IPR. Oh yes?

Nokia is a leechlike, parasitic, greedy, selfish, confiscatory IPR grabber. Now where have I heard those terms before Tero? Do you know anyone who has used them? Questions questions questions.

Well, come on, don't be bashful. Explain yourself. Don't just sidetrack, playing silly selective games with S&P indices. Just answer the question.
