Re -- the street must absolutely despise this deal...

The street despised Ascend/Cascade deal too. However once their integration happend (2 Q's), they are kicking Cisco's butt to high heaven.

In a couple of years 2 players will emerge LU and NT. Cisco will be relegated to a marginal player. The kind of voice expertise is only available with NT and LU, Cisco cannot buy this and will take a few years to build this up, by which time it will be too late.

These may be the same momentum players that loved the Citibank/Travelers deal so much that they ran CCI up 40 points to over 180 only to see it slide back to 145 over the next few months.

How come no one was panning the deal during all the rumors that were around for the last few months?
