On a sadder note: AP Wire Service (c) 1998 Los Angeles California FRESHDOUGH DEAD AT 71 ÿVeteran Pillsbury spokesman Pop N. Freshdough died Wednesday of a severe yeast infection.ÿ He was 71.ÿ He was buried Friday in one of the biggest funerals in years.ÿ Dozens of celebrities turned out including Mrs. Butterworth, the California Raisins, Hungry Jack, Betty Crocker, and the Hostess Twinkies.ÿ The graveside was piled high with flours as longtime friend Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy, describing Mr. Freshdough as a man who "never knew how much he was kneaded". ÿ Freshdough rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers.ÿ He was not considered a smart cookie, and wasted much of his dough on half-baked schemes.ÿ Still, even as a crusty old man, he was a roll model to millions.ÿ Freshdough is survived by his wife, their two children and a grandchild in the oven. _______________________________________________ MS
