" However, my point which may have been made by others was and is that
This management and any new management must hold themselves to a higher standard of behavior if the company is to build credibility. Management should be striving to avoid even an appearance of impropriety. Post Bre-X IMO ethics and appearances are a BIG deal and vital to eventual success. JLA "

I could not agree with you more JLA. Strong ethics are a very important aspect for all companies operating in today's environment.

This reminds me of an article once printed the Chicago Tribune. It was an interview with a big time Venture Capitalist. In the article he clearly stated that before he ever got involved with a prospect, he would take this person out to dinner with their spouse. He specifically looked for how the prospect treated their spouse, nothing else. If the treatment was not at the level he expected it should be the deal was killed. Nothing could sway his mind on this. It was clear from his past experiences that if one does not treat their spouse with the utmost respect, then that person would treat a business partner the same or worse. In the same regard, the current and or small shareholders are very much like the spouse. Treat them poorly, or act unethically and watch the smart money pull back! It is just good business sense to have a well-defined ethics policy along, with a published mission statement.
