I very much doubt if Rob.Rubin would want the Prez. job. As it is, he is the one indispensible member of Clinton's cabinet. His advice on virtually any issue, far beyond the usual narrow confines of the Treasury Secretary's purview, is listened to extremely closely and generally followed, within the contraints of politics. Foreign leaders hang on every word.

Everyone loves him. No one hates him. And he doesn't have to spend most of his time raising money for the next campaigns. Or campaigning.

He has the best job in Washington. Largely of his own making.
