[not in play?]

Hi shlomi,

from the looks of trading action in the last several days (compared to pair/adtran), it seems the street doesn't feel orctf is available now... which would make a lot of sense and is fine by me as i don't think orctf will start reaching full value for another year or two minimum,

none-the less...would think that orctf would be very attractive to any number of companies (ericsson included)... and actually think that in some respects in terms of forward value (adsl/hdsl2/vdsl systems and silicon) orctf may even be better positioned than either adtn or pair... a tasty morsel indeed...

was actually somewhat surprised that it was clal and not fujitsu who bought into orctf at the secondary... with all fujitsu has riding on orctf strategically, don't think they can afford to let orctf fall into other hands (particularly their direct competition's: lu, alcatel, ericsson, nortel, nec etc) ...

maybe clal is seen as "neutral" from fujitsu's perspective... as well as orctf's (it may be in orctf's interest to keep a little distance between themselves and fujitsu if they are going to attempt to play the field)

am interpretting clal electronics' investment in orctf as potentially a downpayment for buyout as well as just a sound investment play... which could lead to an eci/orctf "merger" sometime down the line... from your comments:

>>Israeli papers are saying for some time that ECI is going to buy 100m revenues company. Since we know they wanted PAIR a year ago maybe now they are thinking of orctf (100m next year).<<

it seems you also think that an orctf buyout a possibility as early as next year... several questions for you when you have the time...

- do you think that the clal investment in orctf was a backup plan implemented to shore up a weak secondary? or part of planning all along? (my guess- both)

- how enthusiastic do you think orctf is in having clal looking over their shoulder now: with maybe new clal orctf board member? (my guess- no problem they all know each other anyway, but ... if they keep accumulating maybe some might get a little nervous)

- if orctf comes up for sale next year, do you think others (non-israeli) besides clal/eci/koor will have a shot? if orctf were only available to a select few, would think value may not be fully realized for shareholders or owners... (my guess- orctf management is not about to give anyone much of a discount)

any thoughts?
