YOu have good thoughts Jeff.

I would like to see the next IOM device be clik! sized, GMR based and hold about 400mb-500mb of data. Then, if they design it right, they can release a 100mb disk version and replace Zip.

imagine, a 400mb Hip! disk that is clik! backwards compatible

:)

BTW, if IOM falls to Rocky's price, there is either
a) really bad fundamentals from the factory (ie bad gross margins)
b) severe price competition from ORB/Sony
c) Overspending continuing

but then QNTM or SEG HAS to look at IOM as an inexpensive way to gain $1.8Billion in their revenue stream (and cut all those foreign disti costs). Lots of synergy here to unlock with an established DD player.

QNTM is my pick as an acquirer (IF IOM hits $4 or their GM improves).

>>And if a pro-camera needed more speed for sequential shots - a buffer memory could handle that very well.<<

Not if Iomega wants to make any profit or not. You don't seem to understand. Vapor! is already not going to make a profit. Adding more features like buffer RAM is going to push it even farther into the hole.

My short in IOM went through today at $6 5/8. I am happy about this and plan to see IOM at $4.80 next month.

After seeing Vapor! firsthand, all I can say is look out below. I see a bomb coming.
