Is it true that only amateurs short Amzn?

Peter, if the criteria for amateur status is not making money from it, then you are correct... So far.

Nah, the pros short AMZN also. They just know when to step in, with a little help from the likes of Smith Barney, Merill, Salomon, et al. Nice little club to join if you can get in.

Strategy: Whipsaw the shorts and as they give up in exasperation, kill the daytraders who are jumping on the bandwagon. When they give up, ride the train back up again.

End Result: Confusion, uncertainty, Pros make money up and down.
