TEL SAVE HOLDINGS INC, which has an exclusive marketing alliance with AMERICA ONLINE INC, said it would benefit if AT&T CORP tried buy or form a partnership with the online service provider. Tel-Save, a long distance reseller, has exclusive rights to market telecommunications services to AOL's 12 million subscribers. Filed in U.S. District Court in Delaware, the lawsuit charges Cisco with infringing eight patents related to data networking. The patents cover Bell Labs-developed technology associated with routers, frame relay network equipment and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) equipment. The paper quoted health minister Tessa Jowell as saying that if the drug was licensed in Britain, expected in September, it could be made available "to meet identified clinical need." MARKET NEWS: Wall Street stocks ended barely changed on Thursday as investors showed little enthusiasm to build on the prior session's sharp gains as they waited for Japan to move decisively in tackling its ailing economy. The Dow closed off 16 points at 8813. Wednesday, the Dow gained 164 points. The Standard & Poor's 500-company index ended off 0.74 point at 1106. On the New York Stock Exchange, declining issues led advancers by a 3-to-1 ratio on volume of 586 million shares. The yen eased off its highs on Thursday, enabling the dollar and bonds to recoup some of the ground they lost during the Japanese currency's rebound on Wednesday. The Nasdaq was off four points at 1773. The 30-year Treasury bond was up 13/32 to yield 5.71%. The dollar rose to 137.85 yen, from Wednesday's close at 136.90.
