<<If there is indeed a guidance, that means the information was leaked early. Would this constitute a ground for shareholder lawsuit?>>

When I use the word guidance, it refers to what the company says in its quarterly earnings report, which is then usually expanded upon in the analyst conference call, also available to the public. Historically, the company has done a good job in releasing the essentials in the report after trading hours, providing a level playing field for trading. Further stock action will usually result from the conference call, but this is the result of random analysts' reactions, and cannot be blamed on the company.

It seems to me likely that the most volatile stock movement results from the analysts trying to predict results from information gleaned from other, non-company sources, such as other companies and general business conditions.

Regards, Don

I heard on CNBC that LLTC had been downgraded by an analyst. FWIW.
