Someone posted ad revenue report showing industry increase of 4% from prior quarter. That is not a very thoughtful or helpful report, because business is cyclical. Internet.com noted on 4/29/98 that revenue for 1st quarter est. at about $219mm, a 161% increase from $84mm for 1st quarter 1997. Doubleclick's 4/24 press release noted $13mm for 1st quarter 1998, up from $5.32 mm 1st quarter 1997. If $5.32 was only about 1/8th of Doubleclick's 1997 revenue, does that mean a $104mm year for 1998 for Doubleclick, just based on 1st quarter projections (which should be conservative,in light of explosive growth of market)?
